I was one of the hostesses at our November Quilt Guild Meeting. I brought one of my family's favorite desserts.
Pistachio Torte. Several ladies asked for the recipe, so here it is.
1 1/2 Sticks Butter
1 1/2 Cups Flour
3/4 Cup Chopped Pecans
Mix together and press into a 9 x 13 cake pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. The crust should be brown along the edges.
Mix 8 oz Cream Cheese
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Cup Cool Whip
and spread onto cooled crust.
Beat 2 packages of instant Pistachio pudding mix with
3 Cups milk for 2 minutes and pour over the cream cheese layer.
Refrigerate for 5 minutes.
Spread Cool Whip over the top and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
I know some of you ladies said you could not watch a facebook video I posted about how to use pool noodles and wood dowels to sandwich your quilts. Well here is another video I found that uses the same principle, using 1 x 3 boards instead of the pool noodles.
Check it out.
I have been invited to be a vendor and instructor at the 2016 Lodi Valley Quilt Academy April 16, 2016
I will be teaching the following class.
Charmingly Wonderful Ideas for 5” Squares
Join me, The Quilting Jeanne, in exploring the many ways to use Charm packs or charms cut from yardage or scraps. I will show you how to make easy half square triangles, pinwheels, chevrons, diagonal stripes, and more using 5” squares and your imagination to create simply charming quilts.
More information to come.
Here is a little gallery of two quilts I just finished on my longarm. One is a Quilt of Valor pieced by a member of the Sugar River QOV Quilters, Barb Brunner. The other is a really cute triangle quilt pieced by Joan Parrish. I used a variegated thread on the triangle quilt - I think it was just the right thread for this colorful quilt.
I finished this purse last weekend from a pattern called A Cute Bag from http://www.wonderwomanquilts.com I really like how it turned out. You really can't go wrong with batiks. I am hoping to make a matching wallet soon.
This last week my daughter and I designed a layout for a t shirt for our high school pit orchestra for the musical Fiddler on the Roof. here is a mock up of the shirt. Yes it is true, I don't get to quilt all day everyday.
Happy Quilting Everyone!!
